Melzan has fallen to Crysalia's growing strength, and Arrin has reclaimed the Emerald Crown and assumed the mantle of the Pyn R'hi. Now the Grand Alliance, with the addition of the long-sundered Silver Wolf Clans and the mysterious Suksoromitsu, turn at last towards the east, heading to liberate the city of Polis from the Black Ship Corsairs. But the pirates themselves have different goals in mind, a goal which the oncoming goblin hordes and the other pirate confederations of the Ila Cruaño make difficult for the heroes of the Alliance to achieve.
