The Beast In The Jungle - Henry James - Bog

Bag om The Beast In The Jungle

The Beast In The Jungle is a novella by the renowned American author, Henry James. The story revolves around John Marcher, a man who believes that he is destined for a great and terrible fate, which he refers to as ""the beast in the jungle"". Despite his fears, he lives a relatively uneventful life until he meets May Bartram, a woman who becomes his closest confidante and companion. As the years pass, Marcher becomes increasingly obsessed with the idea that his fate will finally be revealed to him, and that May is somehow connected to it. However, when the truth is finally revealed, it is not what Marcher expected, and he is left to confront the reality of his life and the choices he has made. The Beast In The Jungle is a haunting and introspective work that explores themes of fate, love, and the human condition. The great rooms caused so much poetry and history to press upon him that he needed some straying apart to feel in a proper relation with them, though this impulse was not, as happened, like the gloating of some of his companions, to be compared to the movements of a dog sniffing a cupboard. It had an issue promptly enough in a direction that was not to have been calculated. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
