The Coral Island 2nd edition - Jennifer Clarke - Bog

- A One Act Play

Bag om The Coral Island 2nd edition

Recieved nomination of Best Young Player for part of Gitanjali at Leicestershire One Act Play Festival. The Coral Island is an atmospheric horror story aimed at a young teenage audience with a cast of three young teenage boys and an older girl of no more than sixteen. It is a tale of lost innocence and the awaking of the boys' naive sexual desire. We witness the destruction of the boys' platonic relationships due to the baleful influence of the evil manipulative, beautiful Eve who unexpectedly joins them on their deserted island. The boys are drawn into a dark, drugged nightmare world of cannibalistic horror to which their straight forward boyish minds can find no answer. It is a play which needs adult input and technological expertise to bring out the atmosphere. The Coral Island is written in a simplistic style suitable for a young inexperienced cast to easily learn and for a young audience to readily understand. Despite the dark nature of the play, it is a fun experience for the cast and crew to produce.
