In 2008, he won a fellowship with Calabash International Writers' Fellowship. In 2015, he served as Red Bones Blues Cafe, Kingston's top live poetry scene, poet of the year. In 2018, he became a fellow of The Watering Hole in South Carolina, where he participated in their inaugural manuscript fellowship. Some of the poems in this, his first official collection, were part of that assemblage.
