The Lure Of The Labrador Wild - Dillon Wallace - Bog

Bag om The Lure Of The Labrador Wild

The Lure of the Labrador Wild is a non-fiction book written by Dillon Wallace, recounting his experience of exploring the uncharted wilderness of Labrador, Canada, in the early 1900s. The book follows the journey of Wallace and his companion, Leonidas Hubbard, as they set out to map the interior of Labrador, but end up facing numerous challenges and dangers, including harsh weather conditions, treacherous rapids, and a shortage of food and supplies. The book is divided into chapters that detail their journey, including their encounters with the native Inuit people, and their eventual separation and tragic end. The Lure of the Labrador Wild is a gripping adventure tale that offers a glimpse into the harsh realities of wilderness exploration and the human spirit's resilience in the face of adversity.Of course I knew it was somewhere in the north-eastern part of the continent; but so many years had passed since I laid away my old school geography that its exact situation had escaped my memory, and the only other knowledge I had retained of the country was a confused sense of its being a sort of Arctic wilderness. Hubbard proceeded to enlighten me, by tracing with his pencil, on the fly- leaf of his notebook, an outline map of the peninsula. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
