The above verse concerns the time Jesus walked the physical earth. At the time of the Birth of Jesus, Palestine was ruled by the Roman vassal King Herod the Great. Ancient Jerusalem was conquered around 63 BC by the Romans. The Romans were Jerusalem conquerors and oppressors. Has anybody been oppressing us lately?
