Inspector Arlington is a somewhat bumbling detective who is pre-destined to be unwillingly involved in major crimes(he himself would prefer an administrative role) the landscape of his adventures is very 'English Country House' and will no doubt cause Agatha Christie to rotate violently in her grave! Nonetheless the stories have an intricate and fast moving plot and deal with good standard detective story fare!
