Malik Carter has always been bullied and called derogatory names because of the complexion of his dark skin as he was growing up. He couldn't understand that if people thought "Black" was beautiful, why is it that they hated him so much? Malik's only friend was Rufus and their friendship had grown into something more. More than what Malik had expected. He finally came to realize that the skin he was in was not only because of its color but also his sexual preference. As time went by, Malik had finally learned to love himself and his complexion. And based on his complexion he was able to make a successful career out of it.
