The Tragedy of Dogmas - Folkert Castelein - Bog

- Science, Religion, Civilization and Secular Liberal Democratic State

Bag om The Tragedy of Dogmas

In the emerging development of our human civilization on earth our generation is facing fundamental choices for societies, politics, technology, ideologies and religions . We must work together without unshakable dogmas and survive as a successful population on Earth, or we extinct. Do we survive as a species of 10 billion people on Earth? Then we must build our society better and quicker than so far using our collective brain. Freedom, inclusion, and respect for all? This study shows that our dogmas are a tragedy for the development of our civilization on earth. We are a fast growing population on a planet with limits. Increasing inequality is a threat. Too many are living in the past with dogmatic religion, nationalism, racism, and many are living in fear for the future or in hatred because they feel left behind. There is too much egoism in the world and too many groups do not meet each other anymore. Nation-States and related geopolitics are old thinking. The secular, liberal, democratic society seems to be the best political model we developed measuring the decrease of violence, discrimination and repression, and the increase in freedom of speech, human rights and dignity, but the number and quality of real democracies is decreasing and alternatives are available (China). The rich, and the populists, 'buy' the society.A democracy needs maintenance. Our challenge is even bigger. Without democratic supranational institutions and collaborating social groups and States, inequality and segregation will increase, we will not be in control of our technologies, and finally our population on earth will collapse. Our moral and rational capabilities are developing but working together as one human race is still a challenge. That man is master of his own fate is a big question mark. With this study I try to find answers to questions such as: How to survive as a growing population on Earth? How to minimize suffering and how to create the conditions that every talent can unfold in peace? How to secure the basic rights: the right to live in dignity; equivalence among people; the right for freedom; the right to strive for happiness? How to create a harmonic secular democratic liberal society for all? (being the best option to me I will argue). How to stay in control of our urges, drive and imperfections as individuals and as Nation - States? How to stay in control of our innovations in (bio) technology? The Paperback has 312,600 words. The eBook is a compact version with 212,000 words. More on www.tragedyofdogmas.nl
