Young Cathleen O'Brien comes from a poor Irish immigrant family, but she was enriched from her earliest childhood by a father who gave her the perfect treasure: magic. With his help, she struggles to uncover the secrets behind the shadow of violence that hangs over the town. But the closer they get to the truth, the more she wonders if her trust and attraction for Jason are a mistake.
