Obedience assures the preservation of life. Nine hundred and thirty years have passed. Evil has overtaken the sons of Cain and fills the earth with lasciviousness and violence. God declares He will not contend forever with man. Eight generations surround Adam's deathbed. Sixth generation Jared fathered Enoch who begat Methuselah. These grandfathers plant a forest of gopher trees though they don't know why except that God put it on their hearts. Methuselah rears his son Lamech who becomes father to Noah, the only one of the tenth generation to walk perfect before the Lord and hears His word.
