Tuxedo Warriors - Brian Sterling-Vete - Bog

Bag om Tuxedo Warriors

'The Tuxedo Warrior' was the autobiography of author, composer, and pioneering moviemaker Cliff Twemlow. That book ended at the beginning of Cliff's prolific moviemaking period from the late 70s/1980 onwards until his untimely death in 1993, and this has been called by many the 'Golden Age of Video Cinematography'. This book, 'Tuxedo Warriors', continues the story from the point where the original book ends and is told by Brian Sterling-Vete who is now the only person left who can tell the complete story from the time it all began, right through until the end. 'Tuxedo Warriors' is the most complete private and professional biography of Cliff Twemlow ever written and is the autobiography of Brian Sterling-Vete during that period. Beginning in the late 70s, Brian played a central role in the story of Cliff Twemlow's personal and professional life as the two friends traversed the globe on many previously untold adventures as guerrilla moviemakers in Iceland and the Arctic Circle, in the Mediterranean, in parts of North Africa, in a war zone, on tramp-steamer journeys across the ocean, and road trips across continents. Cliff and his work have now become better known in recent times because movie enthusiasts have been discovering the treasure trove of classic movie clips online. This was also helped by Dr Chris Lee and Dr Andy Willis in their excellent book 'The Lost World of CLIFF TWEMLOW: The King of Manchester Exploitation Movies' and by being taught to students in the university media lectures. However, the wider world has suddenly learned all about Cliff Twemlow after being propelled into 'cult' status by the LA-based production company Severin Films. Severin Films have re-released the entire portfolio of Cliff's films together with the stunning 90-minute documentary they produced called 'The Mancunian Man' which premiered on August 27th, 2023, at The Empire IMAX Cinema in Leicester Square, London, and after that in the USA and Australia. The trailer for the Mancunian Man documentary can easily be found on YouTube. The documentary was directed by the genius, Jake West, and it has received only rave and glowing reviews across the board from movie critics and magazines alike. 'The Mancunian Man' documentary contains never-before-seen footage and interviews with all the extraordinary surviving characters who were part of this unique and compelling story and who were pioneers during this pivotal and innovative period in the history of world cinema. 'Tuxedo Warriors' is the only book that tells the complete story of all of Cliff Twemlow's movies together with his true behind-the-scenes life story between 1977 and when he died in 1993.
