This adventure sends us off to Haiti, an island of hope, dreams, and beautiful landscapes as well as extensive poverty. It's here they stumble into the present day practice of Voodoo and an appreciation of the underworld life of the Caribbean Ocean - all the tropical fish, coral reefs, brilliant colors all with crystal clear visibility of pods of fish. The ease with which the author weaves her religious beliefs through the characters was very refreshing.
