Verses from a Life, Volume Nine - John Louis Cimasi - Bog

Bag om Verses from a Life, Volume Nine

Herein are penned one hundred verses. One hundred verse pages plus the other extra pages needed to complete the book structure is about the right number for a publisher to create a "spine" wide enough to print the title of the book. So, here it is, "Verses From a Life, Volume Nine." Frankly, I did not think that my life span would accommodate the completion of Volume I, let alone completing nine. The miracle of modern medicine has kept me with my basket of comorbidities alive and kept my fingers sufficiently limber to type almost as fast as I did as a middle-aged man. Actually, my paramount difficulty, after finishing nine books of poetry, is coming up with additional worthy themes to elucidate in a poem that I haven't already done. Most of the common leitmotifs like "love" have been "poemed" to death. Alas, thoughts like death itself is an overworked topic in literature and one that, at my age, my wife does not like me to continually explore. Author: John Louis Cimasi was born into a farm family of eight in Portland, a small farming village in Western New York State. He attended SUNY Fredonia for four years before transferring the SUNY Buffalo in 1964. He received a BA in Psychology and Philosophy from SUNY at Buffalo (UB) and his Master's Degree in Information Technology from Regis University in Colorado. After serving for four years in the United States Air Force Security Service (Military Intelligence) as a Chinese linguist, he returned home from Asia to own and operate various businesses as well as work for other employers. Among his largest companies was Melic and Mime Theatrical Productions Incorporated, where for about a decade, he and it produced scores of shows for hundreds of performances at twelve theaters in Buffalo and other cities in the United States. During his theatrical impresario tenure, he also co-wrote four farcical music comedies with Tom Dudzick: "Make Your Moves with Confidence" (1973) "So's Your Old Man" (1974) "You Must Pay the Rent" (1975) "The Monkey's Choice" (1976) His writing credits include fourteen other books and a stage play: "Disaster Recover and Continuity of Business" (2008), "Vignettes From A Life," an autobiography (2015), "Short Stories From a Life" (2016) "Verses From a Life, Volume I, II, III, IV, V, VI, VII, VIII and IX" (2017 - 2022) "JOHN LOVES DEB" (2021) A Compendium of Verse "The Richford Girls," (2021) A Musical Comedy He retired as a Senior Vice President from Citi Bank Operations Center in Amherst, New York in 2008 where he was in charge of technical operations including Continuity of Business and Disaster Recovery.
