In this first book of the Wellspring Farm series we learn that Great Aunt Nettie shares her farm with a variety of animals, family, and little people. She teaches her great nieces to be kind to animals and appreciate the world of nature. Many stories unfold at Wellspring Farm but Nettie does not know about everything that happens because she does not understand the language of animals nor does she see gnomes.
