What I See I Can Be - Joyce Brinkman - Bog

Bag om What I See I Can Be

We have published this book to help children engage with stories that help them have a realistic view of some of the occupations that exist in our society. Our poets have fashioned stories in verse about several different jobs which may or may not be familiar to your child. We hope you will read these stories to them if they are too young to read or will help them read if they need assistance in reading the stories for themselves. Sharing reading time with children is one of the most precious and beneficial gifts parents can give their young ones. Young readers will be able to see characters in these stories who are diverse and see that the world of work has many interesting opportunities for all of us. As they read these stories from a variety of authors they may notice that poets like their characters are different and that all poets don't write the same. Some rhyme, some don't, some are long, some are short. A person doesn't have to like every poem to love poetry because a poem's style is shaped by the person who writes it and readers have the opportunity to choose which style they like best. Publication of "What I See, I Can Be" was made possible by an Indiana Arts Commission Project Support Grant. Brick Street Poetry Inc. is grateful for the work of the Indiana Arts Commission in making this possible and to Governor Eric Holcomb and Indiana General Assembly who support literary art projects such as this through the allocation of Hoosier tax dollars.
