Philips Oppenheim highlights his talent for creating attractive characters that readers and listeners will want to root for. Cate Barratt does a good job telling the narrative, and in addition to having a voice that is extremely likable, her performance is brimming with the wit and humor that the characters she plays undoubtedly possess in abundance. For those who enjoy fun, anti-hero stories, An Amiable Charlatan is a lively read and a fantastic listen.
