There is no doubt that distance education and online learning have become an option with high possibilities of continuing to be used by educational institutions at all levels. The knowledge and use of new technologies during the COVID-19 pandemic was a challenge that education had to face in order not to suspend or lose the school cycle and with it the students.Nowadays, the use of electronic devices is an indispensable competence for insertion in society and access to the labor market, and universities must now include different strategies and innovative teaching methodologies to develop digital skills and abilities in students.Distance education is here to stay as a complement to face-to-face classes. It is nothing new and innovative, but now it will be the education of the future due to the infinite advantages it offers and the ease of integrating work teams globally, the reduction of mobility for travel, access to information, courses, workshops or academic events synchronously or asynchronously, and considerable cost savings.

International maritime transportation is one of the pillars on which the process of economic and commercial globalization is based. From this sector have emerged the main technological and organizational changes that led to the development of intermodalism and transport chains without cargo breakage. At the same time, with economic liberalization and increasing deregulation in the transportation sector, shipping lines and their multimodal divisions have tended to group together in strategic alliances to expand their coverage, reduce costs and offer a wider range of services in order to face the strong global competition for the transportation and distribution of goods. This process is resulting in a new structure for shipping and ports.

An honest confrontation of systemic racism in faculty hiring-and what to do about itWhile colleges and universities have been lauded for increasing student diversity, these same institutions have failed to achieve any comparable diversity among their faculty. In 2017, of the nation's full-time, tenure-track and tenured faculty, only 3 percent each were Black men, Black women, Hispanic men, and Hispanic women. Only 6 percent were Asian/Pacific Islander men, 5 percent were Asian/Pacific Islander women, and 1 percent were American Indian/Alaska Native. Why are the numbers so abysmal? In Doing the Right Thing, Marybeth Gasman takes a hard, insightful look at the issues surrounding the recruitment and hiring of faculty of color. Relying on national data and interviews with provosts, deans, and department chairs from sixty major universities, Gasman documents the institutional forces stymieing faculty diversification, and she makes the case for how such deficiencies can and should be rectified.Even as institutions publicly champion inclusive excellence and the number of doctoral students of color increases, Gasman reveals the entrenched constraints contributing to the faculty status quo. Impediments to progress include the alleged trade-off between quality and diversity, the power of pedigree, the rigidity of academic pipelines, failures of administrative leadership, lack of accountability among administration and faculty, and the opacity and arbitrariness of the recruitment and hiring process. Gasman contends that leaders must acknowledge institutional failures of inclusion, pervasive systemic racism, and biases that restrict people of color from pursuing faculty careers.Recognizing that individuals from all backgrounds are essential to the creation and teaching of knowledge, Doing the Right Thing puts forth a concrete call for colleges and universities to take action and do better.

This book is dedicated to the topic of math anxiety in primary school. In addition to the definition of math anxiety, possible triggering factors for this anxiety are listed. "Boys are talented in math and girls in German." - This stereotype is not an isolated case, which is why one chapter deals with the topic of math anxiety and gender. A large part of the thesis is dedicated to essential influencing factors and possible conditions for success for anxiety-free and gender-equitable mathematics lessons. The aim of this master's thesis was to find out what experiences primary school teachers have with math anxiety, what causes can lead to math anxiety and how teachers can design anxiety-free and gender-equitable lessons. In addition to a detailed theoretical section, this work also includes a specially conducted empirical study. Based on interviews with primary school teachers, many new insights were gained that should help educators to teach mathematics in a contemporary way.

The book brings together diverse views from around the world and provides a comprehensive overview of academic integrity and how to create the ethical academy. At the same time, the Handbook does not shy away from some of the vigorous debates in the field such as the causes of academic integrity breaches. There has been an explosion of interest in academic integrity in the last 20-30 years. New technologies that have made it easier than ever for students to ¿cut and paste¿, coupled with global media scandals of high profile researchers behaving badly, have resulted in the perception that plagiarism is ¿on the rise¿. This, in combination with the massification and commercialisation of higher education, has resulted in a burgeoning interest in the importance of academic integrity, how to safeguard it and how to address breaches appropriately. What may have seemed like a relatively easy topic to address ¿ students copying sources without attribution ¿ has in fact, turned out to be a complex, interdisciplinary field of research requiring contributions from linguists, psychologists, social scientists, anthropologists, teaching and learning specialists, mathematicians, accountants, medical doctors, lawyers and philosophers, to name just a few.Because of this broad interest and input, this handbook serves as the single authoritative reference work which brings together the vast, growing, interdisciplinary and at times contradictory body of literature. For both established researchers/practitioners and those new to the field, this Handbook provides a one-stop-shop as well as a launching pad for new explorations and discussions.

The teaching and learning process is the main means of guaranteeing the development of children's personalities, because through the content taught, they not only appropriate scientific content, but also the experiences accumulated by humanity over time, both in the social and cultural spheres. As part of cognitive psychology, the study of metacognition also requires an approach to the psychic processes that make up the cognitive activity system of the personality, which are crucial in the process of acquiring and using knowledge. Knowing, knowing how to know, determining what interferes in this process, from knowledge of the forms of reading, their qualities, motives and the mental operations involved in them; knowledge of the mental processes needed to achieve comprehension; the knowledge that the subject must have about writing and regulating the operations involved in the process of written communication; as well as knowledge, awareness, control, monitoring and self-regulation of the individual's own memory activity are all subjects covered in this book.

Shree Shree Harichand Thakur, though he has been behind the elite society since the third decade of the nineteenth century, he has been demanding the right to education, the right to religion, the right to action and the right to social honour. Later, his son ShreeGuruchand Thakur succeeded in the movement for that right and taught the greater untouchable Bengal society. This is why Shree Shree Harichand-Guruchand¿s idea of education, education movement, Peasant movement, social reform movement, and religion movement ---- Whatever happened, all of them have remained limited inside the Matua society and among the untouchables, the lower castes. Without political power, the poor, untouchable folk society has not been given the power of politics; no matter how educated they are, how skilled or efficient they are, they will not be able to be known as citizens of human society, removing their identity as folk people. The human society, the civil society or the elite class has occupied a prominent place, and to keep it under its capture forever, they are planning and inventing new tactics and politics after politics. To keep their power in place, they are doing the above activities.

Since the inception of human civilisation, man has advanced through technology by chipping stones to make them sharp-edged to cut raw meat or use fire to scare away wild animals. Throughout history, man has used such technologies to make life easier and time-saving. Changing has occurred in all sectors of life due to man's conscious nature to solve their problems through innovative new ideas and technologies. Such stepping stones in solving practical issues have led to the development of more and more technology. Technology is widely known as the application of science to solve problems. It is also said to be the application of science to art. Hence, educational technology implies the application of technology in education. People are unfamiliar with it because it is a new field. Educational technology is developing systematic approaches and practical knowledge for creating and operating educational systems. It is a communication process that deals directly with developing, implementing, and growing systems, procedures, and assistance. Educational technology is the use of scientific knowledge and psychological learning principles to improve the effectiveness of teaching training.

This work is the result of research carried out at the Federal University of the Southern Frontier, located in the southern region of Brazil. The aim of the studies was to find answers about the model of higher education institution, implemented after the struggle of local social movements, which should enable the inclusion of young people from less favoured social strata. As a new model of higher education institution, it has a curricular matrix that differs from that of other universities, and it also takes care to ensure that its graduates are included, remain there and complete their courses. In the light of the analyses carried out, the UFFS can be considered a new university model: "a popular university".
