    A teacher-student logbook is a powerful tool for tracking and enhancing the learning journey of a student. It is a collaborative record-keeping system that allows teachers and students to communicate and document the progress of the student's education.The logbook typically includes a list of learning goals and objectives, a record of completed assignments and projects, notes on feedback and assessment, and reflections on the student's personal growth and learning experiences. It may also contain observations and recommendations from the teacher, as well as suggestions for future learning opportunities and areas of focus.The logbook serves as a repository of information that can be referred to throughout the school year or over the course of several years. It allows both the student and the teacher to monitor progress, identify strengths and weaknesses, and work collaboratively to set and achieve goals.One of the key benefits of a teacher-student logbook is that it encourages a dialogue between the teacher and the student. By keeping track of progress and reflecting on learning experiences, both parties are able to gain a deeper understanding of the student's needs and learning style. This, in turn, helps to create a more tailored and personalized learning experience that can lead to better outcomes.In summary, a teacher-student logbook is a powerful tool for enhancing the learning experience of students. It promotes collaboration, reflection, and goal-setting, and helps to create a more personalized and effective learning environment.

    This book offers a critical analysis on Indonesian education by drawing from various critical perspectives and theoretical frameworks to explore persistent challenges and social inequality problems in the education sector. Critical perspectives are important to reveal how education is not a neutral, mechanistic process of cultivating the knowledge and skills of future generation. Instead, it is a battleground in which competing visions, ideologies, discourses, religious values, and political interests struggle for dominance in a given society. In each of the sections, contributors draw upon specific case studies and employ critical theories to analyze power relations or to identify and destabilize underlying structures, dominant discourses, hegemonic knowledge, policies, or practices. Some authors also highlight data evidencing inequities, inequalities, or injustices in Indonesian education system. As a handbook, the emphasis on critical perspectives is useful to identify and evaluatethe ¿blind spots¿ of dominant policy discourses and their pedagogical consequences. The plurality of critical approaches also means that this book is necessarily multidisciplinary. A unique feature of this book is the fact that most authors are Indonesian academics who bring with them tacit knowledge of practices and issues. Overall, this book enriches the literature by bringing together different disciplinary perspectives such as political science, psychology, international relations, economics, and linguistics to critically examine important issues related to education in Indonesia.

    This Element explores multi-faceted linkages between feeding and relationship formation based on ethnographic case studies in Morocco, Madagascar, Sri Lanka, Taiwan, and Costa Rica. Research demonstrates that there are many culturally valued ways of feeding children, contradicting the idea of a single universally optimal feeding standard. It demonstrates further that in many parts of the world, feeding plays a central role in bonding and relationship formation, something largely overlooked in current developmental theories. Analysis shows that feeding contributes to relationship formation through what we call proximal, transactional, and distal dimensions. This Element argues that feeding practices can lead to qualitatively distinct forms of relationships. It has important theoretical and practical implications, calling for the expansion of attachment theory to include feeding and body-centered caregiving and significant changes to global interventions currently based on 'responsive feeding.' This title is also available as Open Access on Cambridge Core.

    Philosophical theories often hinge on claims about what is necessary or possible. But what are possibilities and necessities, and how could we come to know about them? This book aims to help demystify the methodology of philosophy, by treating such claims not as attempted descriptions of strange facts or distant 'possible worlds', but rather as ways of expressing rules or norms.

    This book explores the contribution to education contained in the theoretical work and teaching practice of Matthew Lipman (1923-2010) and Ann Margaret Sharp (1942-2010). Their long-lasting cooperation gave rise to the well-known ¿Philosophy for Children¿ (P4C) curriculum, which is nowadays globally widespread. P4C basically relies on the following innovations: firstly, the unprecedented connection between philosophy and childhood; secondly, the reframing of philosophy in practical, viz., not reductively theoretical terms; thirdly, the employment of philosophy to foster democracy and moral capabilities through the development of children¿s thoughtfulness and autonomous thinking, which would eventually result in empowering children¿s social abilities and increasing their self-defence against consumerism, propaganda, and manipulation; finally, the stand against a strictly cognitivist approach to education. More than just contextualizing these innovations in the coeval historical and social context, the author shows that P4C¿s revolutionary stance on education relies on the fruitfulness of Lipman and Sharp¿s intellectual cooperation and on their manifold abilities as researchers, teachers, trainers, communicators, motivators, and community-builders. The book analyzes their philosophical-educational vision and the scholastic curriculum they developed jointly; additionally, it provides a critical appraisal of P4C¿s achievements as well as of its future perspectives.

    This book studies the many different ways in which the lives of the first, third, and fourth generations intersect and the reciprocal benefits that can accrue from establishing positive intergenerational bonds. The unifying feature across the chapters is that the authors view these relationships as a powerful influence on Quality of Life (QoL). The book takes the stance that older adults figure prominently in the QoL of young children, with the latter group defined here as ranging in age from infancy up to and including eight years of age. It examines how bonds with older adults can affect young children's functioning across developmental domains-physical, emotional, social, and cognitive. It addresses questions of importance to those who have a commitment to the very young such as: "e;What benefits can young children derive from positive bonds with older adults?"e;, "e;How do young children understand the aging process and develop respect for the elderly?"e;, "e;How can published research be used to guide both informal and formal interactions between the older generation and the newest one?"e; and, finally, "e;How can various stakeholders such as professionals, families, organizations, and communities collaborate to enrich and enlarge the kind and amount of support that older adults provide to the very young child?"e;

    Il testo "Il segreto dell'infanzia" di Maria Montessori presenta la sua visione dell'inizio della vita e dell'educazione dei bambini. Montessori sostiene che i bambini hanno una naturale tendenza all'apprendimento e che l'educazione deve rispettare, proteggere e sostenere questa tendenza attraverso un ambiente di apprendimento accogliente e stimolante. Nel libro, Montessori descrive il neonato come un "embrione spirituale" che ha bisogno di condizioni favorevoli per svilupparsi al meglio. L'obiettivo è quello di aiutare il bambino a costruire relazioni positive, autonomia, autostima, fiducia e competenza, che saranno le basi per il suo futuro sviluppo. Montessori sostiene che il bambino stesso sa meglio di chiunque altro come poter essere aiutato e che la sua guida è la chiave per un'educazione di successo (Aonia edizioni).
