Unter Migration versteht man Wanderungen zwischen Staaten, die zu einem längerfristigen Wechsel des ständigen Aufenthaltsorts führen. Als Gründe für Migration kann man Push- und Pull Faktoren heranziehen. Push- Faktoren sind Umstände im Heimatland, die einen dazu veranlassen, dieses zu verlassen. Dazu gehören beispielsweise Krieg und Verfolgung. Pull- Faktoren dagegen sind Umstände im Zielland, wegen derer man in dieses Land ziehen möchte, beispielsweise gute Arbeitsmarktchancen oder hoher Wohlstand.Durch aktuelle politische Entwicklungen, wie der Finanz- und Schuldenkrise in der EU oder dem Bürgerkrieg in Syrien, gibt es viele Wanderungen.
