Mutual Fund is one of the financial instruments in capital market, here the study based on the empirical investigation on the investment strategies and performance of Mutual Fund schemes, main purpose of the study is to identify that what are the investment strategies of selected schemes and which schemes provided highest return and minimize the risk. Research need because of the capital market is unexpected volatility and some time reaction was positive and negative. Good and bad news affects price movement, that needs to identify how much market or bench mark provided return. Investors need to keep watch on investment strategies of schemes and identify trade ¿ off return and risk. The year 2009 had unprecedented global liquidity crisis that led to a share slowdown in growth. The industrial growth index was zero. Time valuations are attractive for investment decision and strategies for active diversification of portfolio. March 2009 sensex and Nifty down by 37% & 36 % respectively. Mutual fund industry has been affected by stock market movements. Mutual fund increased their stock/scrip fund holding from 4.1% to 21.2% of the total market capitalization.
Fundamental analysis is one of the leading methods used in the selection of firms for investment decisions in stock markets. Fundamental analysis is used to obtain information about a firm by taking into account its financial information such as sales, profitability, cash flows and growth rates. The Malawi Multi-Stakeholder Platform (MSP) project is designed to promote an inclusive value chain approach focusing on assessing access, use, and participation of women, men and youth in the bean seed value chain in Malawi. The MSP is expected to channel bean demands back to producers, seed suppliers and variety developers. Integration of digital tools can facilitate interconnectedness of bean value chain stakeholders. The objective of the MSP digital trade platform is to facilitate transactions among MSP actors through digital tools and to replicate the physical market infrastructure into digital space. Establishing the needs of seed and grain value chain actors, especially for smallholder farmers and women is central to the design and successful deployment of the digital tools. This paper presents results of the digital landscape in Malawi and needs assessments of MSP actors as users of digital tools in Malawi.
This research work it is a primary objective of is to examine the effect of US individual investor sentiment on US financial stock market returns and volatility. This study applies survey data using the EGARCH-M model in our sample on the SP500 stock index between the periods 1970 to 2018 to the sentiment of individual investors in the United States. Our results are first, US market fundamentals are regressed on investor sentiment to capture the effect of macroeconomic risk factors on investor sentiment. Next, we study the effect of unexpected movements in US investor sentiment on the performance and volatility of sector-specific stocks. The results reveal that a one-time increase in the standard deviation of the rational component of US individual investor sentiment has a significant positive effect on all stock returns of the US industries examined.
