  • - Mit opgør med kulturpolitiet

    227,95 kr.

    197,95 kr.

Born in the Old City of Sana'a, Yemen, Mohammed Al Samawi was raised a devout Muslim and taught to think of Christians and Jews as his enemies. But when Mohammed secretly received a copy of the Bible, what he read cast doubt on everything he'd previously believed. After connecting with Jews and Christians on social media and at international interfaith conferences, Mohammed became an activist, making it his mission to promote dialogue and cooperation in Yemen. Then came the death threats: first on Facebook, then through terrifying anonymous phone calls. To protect himself and his family, Mohammed fled to the southern port city of Aden. Yet his new home was about to become the heart of a brutal north-south civil war that has turned Yemen into one of the twenty-first century's worst humanitarian crises. As gunfire and grenades exploded outside his window, Mohammed hid in the bathroom of his apartment and desperately appealed to his contacts on Facebook.Remarkably, a handful of people he barely knew responded. Over thirteen days, four ordinary young people with zero experience in diplomacy or military exfiltration worked across six technology platforms and ten time zones to save this innocent young man trapped between deadly forces. A thrilling page-turner that deeply affirms the human spirit, The Fox Hunt reminds us that goodness can triumph even in the darkest circumstances.

This book claims a discursive space in academic scholarship for knowledges and ways of knowing that capture the diversity, complexity and full humanness of Australian Muslim women¿s subjectivities. It draws on in-depth conversational interviews with 20 Australian Muslim women from various ethnic backgrounds during which the women shared their experiences of being at the crossroads of their religious, gendered, racialised and ethnic identities. The book puts forward a decolonial feminist border methodology by weaving the work of decolonial feminist philosophers Maria Lugones and Gloria Anzaldúa with postmodern feminist thinking on subjectivity and with discourse analysis. This methodology is used to centre and attend to the fluidity and plurality of Muslim women¿s subjectivities, at the intersections of race, ethnicity, patriarchy, gender, sexuality and Islam.

  • af Gabriel Aryeh
    157,95 kr.

After several interactions with Muslims of distinct sects in the Bronx community, NYC schools, and the workplace through the decades, Aryeh observed how some professing Christians were led to believe in the Islamic claim of Muhammad's legitimacy as a prophet. Although a few maintained the belief that Jesus remained holy as a "prophet," they suggested he was a mere man and abandoned their past confessions regarding his divinity. Nevertheless, the more astounding claim many ex-Christians and Muslims made suggested that the Jewish and Christian God found in the Bible identified as the same deity of the Qur'an. Hence, these claims above initiated the primary reasons for delving deep into the study of Islam and writing this book for the sake of not only reaching many believers who erred from Christianity but the Muslims who believed that Allah identified as the God of the Jews and Christians. Indeed, the enormous task of disproving Islam as an extension of the Abrahamic faith required many investigations into the questions raised by such astonishing claims. This book makes deep inquiries into the historical and theological assertions found in the Islamic faith concerning Allah, Muhammad, and the religious practices observed today, which have survived for little over fourteen centuries.Consequentially, the unfortunate misconceptions taught about Islam in many church pulpits since the early days of this researcher's youth stemmed from books found in academia and some Christian libraries, which promoted a worldwide narrative by selective, favorable historical accounts based on political ideologies instead of rigorous theological investigation. The Christian perspective on Islam examines the theological origins of the Islamic faith by first investigating the geographical locations alleged as the nascent religion's early beginnings by exploring the historical and societal development of the Arab peoples. Second, this book probes the legitimacy of Muhammad as a divinely ordered prophet by consulting the Judaic traditions derived from the Jewish Scriptures explaining the qualifications of authentic prophethood. Finally, the sequential order of inquiry laid out above will highlight the emergence of the theology and residual religious rituals observed today in the Islamic world, and therefore, conclusively demonstrate that Islam remains unaligned with its Jewish and Christian predecessors.

Sayyidina ¿Umar during his caliphate gathered the multifarious groups praying tarawih into a single congregation. Ubay ibn Käb said: 'This was not done before!" Sayyidina ¿Umar said "I am fully aware of this, but it is excellent!" He also said: 'What a fine innovation this is."¿¿Nowhere in the field of Islamic jurisprudence is a blatant tampering with the truth felt more than in the redefinition of "Sunna" and "bid'a". The understanding of for these terms is arrogantly cast aside. The crystal-clear distinction of the pious Salaf such as Imam al-Shafi'i, "Bid'a is of two kinds; praiseworthy innovation and blameworthy innovation" is being abandoned, while later, controversial figures are invoked as "more representative of the Salaf".The intent of this book is to do away with these perilous misconceptions and to present over 160 proofs for the Sunni understanding of Sunna and bid'a as set forth in classical, moderate, mainstream Islam according to the Sunni Salaf and Khalaf, including the four Schools of Fiqh. Additionally, the book provides case studies on topics such as collective supplication, partitions for women in mosques, and proofs for visitation of graves by women. "The Sunna is the first subsidiary source (masdar far`i) after the Qur'an among the sources of Islamic law. We describe it as a subsidiary source because it is the Qur'an that actually indicated that it is a source, and the basis of everything is the Qur'an. The Qur'an commanded us to follow the messenger of Allah: therefore we follow the messenger of Allah."~Shaykh Dr. Muhammad Sa`id Ibn Mulla Ramadan al-Buti "The meaning of the expression Binding Proof of the Sunnah is that the Sunna points to the judgment of Allah Most High, either as definitive knowledge (`ilm) or as as probable knowledge (zann), bringing it out and disclosing it for us. We understand the Divine rulings by means of the Sunna and it becomes binding upon us to put its content into practice, So the real meaning of the Sunna as binding proof is exposition and proof-inference necessitating obligatory practice of their results because the latter is the Divine decision."~Dr. `Abd al-Ghani ibn `Abd al-KhaliqThe book also contains the translation of Imam Ibn Hajar al-`Asqalani's explanation of the Hadith on Islam, Iman and Ihsan also known as Gibril's hadith from the Fathul-Bari.Shaykh Gibril Fouad Haddad is author of Four Imams and Their Schools, The Musnad of Ahl al-Bayt and The Muhammadan Light among other works. This book states from the outset that the Qur'an is not a book of science. However, Islam respects science and scientists, giving them high status in Islamic society, and tells its followers to afford scientists the respect they deserve. The author informs his readers that he has no intention to relate the Qur'an to modern scientific discoveries. He only cites Qur'anic verses that refer to such discoveries as science have made in our present time. The book explains that Islam is a faith that lays down a complete way of life.It makes clear that Islam is a faith that liberates human beings, through advocating the worship of the One and True God. It condemns aggressionand injustice. It promotes learning and the acquisition of knowledge. It advocates purification, cleanliness, justice, perfection, tolerance, compassion, mercy, helping others and absolute justice for all humanity. It is addressed to all humanity, making no distinction between human beings. God has bestowed Islam as an act of His mercy to the whole world. It is our hope that readers will enjoy reading this book and that, along with other releases by the Osoul Global Centre, it will provide the information they seek on Islam in an easy to understand and complete manner.Table of ContentsWhat is Islam? What do they say about Islam? The Pillars of IslamWho is the Messenger of Islam? What do they say about Muhammad?Pillars of FaithWhat is the Qur'an?What do they say about the Qur'an?The Fundamental Goals of Islam Etiquettes, Manners, and Morals in IslamRights in IslamWhat do you know about Islam?Islam and WealthIslam and WomenIslamic Perspective on SexIslam and Non-MuslimsIslam and Other Divine ReligionsMuslims love Jesus and his MotherIslam and JihadIslam is the Faith of PeaceIslam and SocietyIslam and CleanlinessIslam and KnowledgeThe Effects of Islamic Civilization on Modern ScienceThe Virtues of Islamic CivilizationScientific Points in a few Verses of the Qur'anThe Qur'an and the Beginning of the WorldThe Qur'an on the Expansion of the UniverseThe Qur'an on Celestial BodiesThe Qur'an on Air PressureThe Qur'an on Outer SpaceThe Qur'an on the AtomThe Qur'an on Human Embryonic PhasesWhat is mentioned in the Qur'an about the OceansThe Qur'an on the Barrier Between SeasThe Qur'an on Darkness in the SeasThe Qur'an on Internal WavesThe Qur'an on Formation of Clouds and RainThe Qur'an on AnimalsThe Qur'an on MountainsWater and LifeWho are those that show Enmity towards Islam?Distinguishing Qualities and Privileges of Islam

The Message of Islam begins by asserting the important fact that the faith of Islam, its worship, the rules governing people's transactions and all its teachings have remained exactly the same as they were taught by Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and no change or alteration was ever introduced into them. The book discusses and sheds light on a number of rights to which Islam attaches great importance and further shows that Islam lays down a number of high principles and clear beliefs that it requires Muslims to believe in, implement and advocate. The Message of Islam stresses that in the event people behave differently to the teachings, it is Muslims who have changed and not the message.Table of ContentsIntroductionMonotheism in IslamThe Principal Goals of IslamDistinguishing Qualities of IslamThe Spiritual Aspect of IslamThe Pillars of IslamThe Political Aspect of IslamThe Economic Aspect of IslamThe Social Aspect of IslamThe Moral Aspect of IslamThe Commandments of IslamA Glimpse at some Islamic EtiquettesConclusion
