Concise, Scripture-Centered Guide Answers Popular Questions about Gender and Church LeadershipMany new believers have questions about what it means to live as a Christian in the context of a local church, and pastors are looking for resources to pass along to their congregations to help them think biblically about the Christian life. Church Questions is a series by 9Marks that seeks to provide Christians with sound and accessible biblical teaching by answering common questions about church life. Each booklet offers biblical answers and practical applications with the goal of nurturing healthy church practice and commitment. In this Church Questions booklet, Greg Gilbert answers the question Can women be pastors? Gilbert explains why God reserved the office of pastor and elder exclusively for men by examining the structures of authority God established from the very beginning. Focusing on texts in Genesis 1-3 and 1 Timothy 2, Gilbert makes a case for why God's original design for church leadership is not arbitrary, but part of his good and beautiful plan.

In this book, I will seek to first lay out, in Section 1, a comprehen-sive examination of the scriptural worldview of the kingdom and how that calls us to approach our discipleship and our place in the world. In Section 2, I will consider the role of nations and the politics of the nations and where the kingdom of God stands in those domains. Fi-nally, in Section 3, I will look at the more practical elements of how a Christian community should navigate through the murky waters of worldly politics and specific issues. We will work hard to ensure that Jesus is our guide throughout the journey. The third section will take the identity that I have attempted to describe and show it lived out in the real world. The first section is like running on a paved trail. The footing is secure and stable. As we move into the second section, we move to a dirt trail cut through a for-est. The route is a bit more winding and less sure than the pavement, but still quite secure and straightforward. By Section 3 we are running through a swamp. The path is not set and the ground is often unsure, but we move forward trying to find our way as best we can. Because the third section is an attempt to apply principles in concrete situa-tions, there is more room to disagree. Each topic broached in Section 3 could be its own book. I have attempted to introduce an approach to each subject without being so brief that it is unhelpful or counterpro-ductive. My goal in that section is not to provide the absolute answer but to show how we might work our way through difficult and thorny topics with a kingdom-minded approach.

The Bible isn't just a big book full of stories from a long time ago. It also tells us what we are to believe about God, life, and what happens after this life. Christians sometimes use a lot of complicated words to describe these things, but this brief breakdown of everything you need to know is easy to understand.

The Little Way approach to counseling is a profoundly inspired and unique methodology deeply rooted in the teachings and spirituality of Saint Thérèse of Lisieux, affectionately known as the Little Flower. This cherished counseling method embodies the principles that Saint Thérèse ardently advocated in her own life: simplicity, humility, and childlike trust. It is a guiding light, a gentle hand that points towards the extraordinary hidden within the ordinary, the significance woven into the seemingly insignificant aspects of one's existence. At its heart, the essence of the Little Way in counseling is to assist individuals in their journey toward discovering profound meaning, purpose, and healing within the rich panorama of their lives. It is a beacon of guidance, a means to help people navigate the labyrinth of their emotions and experiences, ultimately leading them to the essence of their true selves. This approach does not rely on grand or complex interventions; rather, it centers on nurturing an individual's faith, guiding them to place their trust in the boundless love and providence of God, and helping them embrace the exquisite beauty of life's simplicity. The key tenet of the Little Way in counseling is the unwavering belief in one's capacity to discover profound meaning, purpose, and healing throughout life's journey. It serves as a luminous source of hope and transformation, offering a path to inner healing and a rekindled sense of purpose through the gentle embrace of life's everyday moments. The wisdom of Saint Thérèse calls on individuals to recognize that even in the most mundane and seemingly trivial occurrences, there lies a deeper significance and a connection to the divine. The Little Way encourages individuals to pause, reflect, and find solace in the trust that God's benevolence and love are unceasing. It offers a refuge of comfort and guidance, reminding individuals that their lives, with all their complexities and uncertainties, are held within the cradle of divine providence. Through this counseling approach, individuals are encouraged to relinquish their burdens and allow themselves to be carried by the currents of God's boundless love, leading them toward an enriched, purposeful, and profoundly meaningful existence. In the world of counseling, the Little Way provides a refreshing perspective, as it invites individuals to explore the healing power of simplicity, humility, and childlike trust. The essential principles of this approach serve as a balm for wounded souls, guiding them towards inner peace and renewal.

Pope Francis once again addresses the world with an urgent appeal for climate protection: In "Laudate Deum", the follow-up letter to "Laudato si", he calls for rapid measures against global warming and speaks out against climate change denial. Over time, Francis has realized that we are not reacting sufficiently while the world that surrounds us is crumbling and perhaps facing a deep turning point. He posits lasting damage to the oceans as "one of the many signs that the other creatures of this world have stopped being our companions along the way and have become instead our victims", feeding the "technocratic paradigm" which he described in Laudato si'.In the letter, which is around 8,000 words long, the Pope argues mostly in scientific, political and economic terms. Pope Francis is clear that we all have a role to play, pressurising the sources of power and demanding change. He calls us all to be involved and particularly urges that COP28, the next round of important UN negotiations on climate change, needs to be a historic event, with binding forms of energy transition. For the sake of the future of our children we must take action.
