Sultan is the official biography of Wasim Akram, the sultan of swing, one of the greatest fast bowlers in the history of cricket. For twenty years, Wasim Akram let his cricket do the talking his electrifying left-arm pace, his explosive left-handed striking, his leadership and his inspiration. For another twenty years he kept his own counsel about those days, full of drama, controversy and even mystery, in a country, Pakistan, that to outsiders is a constant enigma. Until now. Sultan tells the story of cricket's greatest left-arm bowler, and one of its greatest survivors, who was chosen from the streets of Lahore and groomed by Imran Khan to become champion of the world man of the match in the final of the 1992 World Cup. Along the way were unforgettable rivalries with the greatest of his time, from Viv Richards and Ian Botham to Sachin Tendulkar and Shane Warne. Along the way, too, a backdrop of conspiracy and intrigue over ball tampering and match fixing about which Wasim finally sets the story straight. But there's more: Sultan goes frankly into the crumbling and rebuilding of Wasim's private life, marred by the tragedy of his first wife's death and the torment of addiction. The result is an unprecedented insight into the life of a cricketer who revolutionised the game with his speed and swing, and a patriot buoyed and burdened by the expectation of one of the game's most fanatical publics.

Out of the box thinking, ruthless pragmatism and an innate ability to understand, define and then redefine the game of cricket are probably the hallmarks of Mahendra Singh Dhoni's cricket. From hitting countless sixes in his school ground in the sleepy town of Ranchi to finishing a run chase with another towering six in a World Cup final against Sri Lanka, Dhoni's journey is undoubtedly one of the most iconic of our times. Many have tried to decode his mystique, and yet, every account seems to have fallen frustratingly short of capturing the essence of the man. Instead, in Do Different, we offer diverse perspectives on the man: from a fellow wicketkeeper and competitor reminiscing on Dhoni's early years; to MSD's first agent with his perspective on the journey of brand Dhoni; to an international fast bowler who played with MSD since his first-class days and then starred for him in the Indian Premier League. From the matches and moments that defined Dhoni in the IPL, in international cricket and even off the field, to his life beyond the game of cricket, this is your ultimate MSD book.

Cricket - America's national game? It would have been! By 1859 cricket was being played in at least 22 states, in over 125 cities and towns, and the numbers of clubs were estimated to be around 1000, per Wilke's Spirit of the Times. An American topped the English bowling averages; cricket clearly was America's game. What happened then, to turn the tide in baseball's favor? America's cricketing capital Philadelphia, hosted teams from Australia, Canada, England, Ireland and the West Indies. While early cricket evolved significantly in England, 'Wicket' its' precursor, continued to be played with the original technique for more than 300 years in Connecticut. Wherever the English went cricket followed, we find this in the early history of Argentina, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Mexico, Peru and Uruguay! The book showcases never-before seen pictures including art works and selected team scores depicting American cricket's glorious but unsung history.
