'In The Race Against Time, Askwith touches upon something larger than simply running or sport - he helps us to see ourselves ... Both inspiring and moving' - Adharanand Finn, author of Running with the KenyansA quest for the secrets of happy, healthy whole-life running, and how runners can keep enjoying their sport, whatever their ageWhat do you do when the sport that has been your lifeline to physical and mental well-being starts to slip away from you?Richard Askwith, a life-long running enthusiast, was sunk in mid-life despair. Plagued by injuries and demoralised by failing strength and speed, he was on the point of giving up for good. Then he came across the remarkable world of late-life athletics, and resolved to find out more. The result is a thrilling, life-affirming quest for the secrets of the happy few who keep on running all through life's later decades, culminating in a life-changing adventure at the World Masters Athletics Championships. It's a resounding message of hope for any runner who has felt their joy in their sport being undermined by age.Colourful, informative and inspiring, The Race Against Time is a story of cold science and heart-warming resilience; of champions and also-rans; of sprinting centenarians and forty-something super-athletes barely touched by age. Its heroes are experts and enthusiasts - scientists, coaches, runners - from many countries, each with a different story to tell. What unites them is a single belief: that you don't have to take growing old lying down. This is a book for anyone who has ever felt the healing power of running. It is both a very personal account of one man's journey from despair to hope, and an exhilarating guide, explaining how timely adjustments to lifestyle and training can slow the progress of physiological decay, while sheer human spirit can, if you are lucky, keep you running happily and healthily, all the way into extreme old age.

This is a very different book about photography, when the camera turns inward to learn about the photographer as a person and how he takes pictures. A 12-year visual autobiography, it describes the process of becoming a photographer, discovering practical approaches, the use of the imagination, connectedness of life and the aging process itself.
Yale professor and leading expert on the psychology of successful aging, Dr. Becca Levy, draws on her ground-breaking research to show how age beliefs can be improved so they benefit all aspects of the aging process, including the way genes operate and the extension of life expectancy by 7.5 years. The often-surprising results of Levy's science offer stunning revelations about the mind-body connection. She demonstrates that many health problems formerly considered to be entirely due to the aging process, such as memory loss, hearing decline, and cardiovascular events, are instead influenced by the negative age beliefs that dominate in the US and other ageist countries. It's time for all of us to rethink aging and Breaking the Age Code shows us how to do just that.Based on her innovative research, stories that range from pop culture to the corporate boardroom, and her own life, Levy shows how age beliefs shape all aspects of our lives. She also presents a variety of fascinating people who have benefited from positive age beliefs as well as an entire town that has flourished with these beliefs.Breaking the Age Code is a landmark work, presenting not only easy-to-follow techniques for improving age beliefs so they can contribute to successful aging, but also a blueprint to reduce structural ageism for lasting change and an age-just society.

A New Sword for My Bride was birthed over several years of journaling, writing poetry, prayers to Father God and a life struggling to be completely free in Christ. The opening prayer with the names of God became a catalyst for each chapter which then discuss an obstacle that keeps many Christians from fully being embraced by their Abba Father. Overcoming obstacles in one life's journey has taught lessons to the author that will help others. The matching poetry in each chapter were written during that same season and the Scripture Bible lessons affirm that learning. Take a journey through some obstacles that may be holding you back from truly living your destiny in the Kingdom of God and embrace Biblical teaching on the way. Judy's prayer is that those who take this journey of faith, as she shares her own journey, will come to realize that they are chosen (John 15:16), precious & anointed (2 Cor. 6:18), redeemed for another Kingdom and don't need to fit in here (Gal. 1:10). She prays that her readers would come to realize that it is never too late (Joel 2:12), that our King directs us (Isa. 48:17), we can gain an eternal perspective (2 Cor. 4:18), that we can listen to our King (John 10:27), we can pray with mountain moving power (John 14:13-14), can triumph through trials (James 1:3-4), and are forgiven forever (Psalm 86:5).
