The first book from Los Angeles–based interior designer Richard Hallberg charts an evocative body of work that spans seaside, mountaintop, country, and urban locales and celebrates the sensual, boundary-defying aesthetic of a true original. In spaces that forgo easy categorization of traditional or contemporary, Hallberg uses art and objects from every genre and era—eighteenth-century gilt consoles, African baskets, selenite-slab tables—in a seductive interpretation of modernity that embodies the multifaceted, multicultural way we live today.Wrought by a native Californian with the heart of a classicist, these rooms reserve space for sunlight, foliage, and the sound of trickling water, which make the exalted approachable and revere the perfectly imperfect. Hallberg incorporates the finest natural and artisanal materials—reclaimed wood, hand-troweled plaster, marble, limestone, crisp linen, and sumptuous wool—but understands that the greatest luxury of all is comfort. This volume chronicles the instinctual process of a designer who eschews hard-and-fast rules for the wonder of breaking them, who leaves no stone unturned in his uncompromising search for beauty, and whose lifelong pursuit of the magical, ineffable, and gorgeous has yielded an incomparable oeuvre.
The first publication dedicated to Karl Lagerfeld's glamorous homes, known for their eclectic interiors, ranging from the art deco to the ultramodern.

Beloved by millions of fans, Jenny and Dave Marrs from HGTV's Fixer to Fabulous have built and remodeled hundreds of homes over the last two decades, creating joyful, warm, and thoughtful makeovers in each one. At its heart, the Marrs believe a home needs to express the intentions of its inhabitants. They also believe your home should be beautiful--not based on how the latest trends define beauty, but as a reflection of who you are. House + Love = Home is filled with: 4-Color Photos Throughout: Filled with never-before-seen gorgeous photographs of interiors, exteriors, family shots and more; Intentions: House + Love = Home highlights the twelve areas within a home that Jenny and Dave often remodel and show how each unique space can have intentional design elements that express the personalities of those who live there; Transformational Tips: these tips take a specific part of a home-everything from doors and shutters to lighting and flooring-and shows the most effective ways to enhance that area. Alongside gorgeous photos of the Marrs' restored farmhouse, their delightful kids, and many other spaces they've reimagined, Jenny and Dave share their personal journey of establishing their own home, an ever-growing family and a busy, sustainable business. Woven throughout are wonderful essays by Jenny about their lives on the Marrs farm and how they seek to live intentionally with a deep abiding faith and purpose. As Jenny says, 'Our company motto is the simplest of equations: House + Love = Home. Beautiful spaces are most often imperfect and full of character. Just like people. Perfection is never the goal. Living well is.'"--

Living on the remote island of Mull has inspired Banjo Beale to be resourceful, inventive, and original—which he calls his Wild Island Style. Mindful of the environment and budget in everything he creates, and combining vintage finds with clever design, he re-purposes the old and re-imagines it into something new. From contemporary to classic, his spaces are characterful, curated, and conscious. His spaces tell a story about the people who inhabit them. In his first book, Banjo wants to encourage people to give design a go and create their own style by thinking outside the box. Don’t defer to the homewares brands to redecorate—from our backyards to scrapyards, mudlarking to marketplaces, masterpieces sit in waiting. It just takes imagination, a sense of adventure, and a little bit of courage to make it happen. The re-purpose and reuse revolution has already begun with more people turning to Facebook Marketplace to buy, swap, and sell than ever before, Antique Fairs are attracting a new generation of collectors, and curators and Instagram stores are popping up everyday with curated collections aimed at an audience who are looking for something unique to express their identity. No matter your style, from budget bougi to boho nouveau, this book will uncover universal ideas that you can easily implement into your next design. This is an accessible bible to creating authentic, cost-effective interiors.

The New Naturals celebrates 18 global homes that put well-being and environment first, incorporating eco elements and sympathetic natural materials that provide a nourishing connection to nature. The properties showcased include: renovated Victorian homes in leafy Highgate; Italian summer houses; New York retreats and Australian new builds. Their owners and designers are the likes of Louisa Grey (House of Grey), Jonathan Tuckey, Jack Harries and Alice Aedy of Earthrise Studios, Sebastian and Brogan Cox and many more. Their shared credentials are garnered from a focus on key eco elements such as clay walls, reclaimed wood, stone, and natural paints but their visual identities are unexpectedly varied. These contributors are pioneers of slow living and sustainable choices, whether it's a lick of paint, an upcycle of existing pieces, the use of sustainable materials, or modern technology that sits comfortably behind the scenes. All combine to create a book showing us how we must exist, now and in the future.

Milne, published in 1926. Milne wrote the episodic stories of Winnie-the-Pooh and its sequel, The House at Pooh Corner (1928), for his young son, Christopher Robin, whose toy animals were the basis for many of the characters and whose name was used for the young boy who appears in the tales as the benign master of the animals. The main character, Winnie-the-Pooh (sometimes called simply Pooh or Edward Bear), is a good-natured, yellow-furred, honey-loving bear who lives in the Forest surrounding the Hundred Acre Wood (modeled after Ashdown Forest in East Sussex, England). His companions are Eeyore, a gloomy gray donkey; Piglet, a timid pig; Owl, a pontificating bird; the meddlesome Rabbit; and Kanga, an energetic kangaroo whose inquisitive baby, Roo, lives in her pouch.Pooh, a self-described "Bear of Very Little Brain," gets himself into all kinds of sticky situations, and the book's 10 chapters recount his various adventures. In the first chapter, Pooh hears bees in the treetop and believes they must be making honey. After unsuccessfully attempting to climb the tree, he uses a balloon to pretend he is a cloud, but the bees are suspicious. Deciding they are the wrong sort of bees, Pooh realizes he is unable to get down, and he enlists the help of Christopher Robin, who pops the balloon with a gun. In a later adventure, Pooh visits Rabbit and, after eating too much, gets stuck in Rabbit's doorway. For the next week, Pooh fasts while Christopher Robin keeps him company. Finally he is slim enough for the others to pull him free. Pooh's kindness is also evident, notably when he finds Eeyore's missing tail in chapter four. Later in the book Pooh demonstrates his bravery when he and Christopher Robin set off in an upturned umbrella to rescue Piglet. (Britannica 2018)
