Bag om Born Blind
Can a man born blind ever see? His lack of sight didn't keep him from looking. Most people saw their world according to what they had been told, never questioning their beliefs. Cursed with blindness, Tuphlos had to keep asking, seeking, and knocking if he expected to become any better than a beggar. He couldn't read people's expressions or know when they nodded or waved. The sky was blue and the grass was green, but he couldn't tell the difference. Light and darkness were a mystery explained only by the warmth of the sun and the cool of night. Were it not for the abuse and ridicule, he might have believed Jewish traditions about God. At first, he wanted to believe as his father did, but the rabbi's convictions didn't always seem right. Since he was blind, he was expected to agree with what others saw to be true.
For all his life, he didn't want to be what he seemed destined to become. Open doors quickly closed whenever he tried to enter, proof that he hadn't yet found the right door. Then one day, he met a man who gave him sight and had a story to tell that should never be forgotten.
