Pat Patton, a 30-year-old prankster-loving new attorney, has learned how to run his office and navigate the justice system to secure the best legal outcome for his clients. His case load has grown as well as his feelings for Asst. DA Shirley O'Kelly. They had to outrun a psychopath who was hell-bent on killing them. Now the unsuspecting lawyer is the target of another dangerous criminal, who has sworn that death is too lame a payback for the death of his brother. Pat and Shirley find relief only when they join family, old and new friends, who rally around to help them.
