Flower Of The Mind - Alice Meynell - Bog

Bag om Flower Of The Mind

Flower of the Mind is a collection of essays written by Alice Meynell, a prominent British poet and essayist of the late 19th and early 20th centuries. The book is a compilation of 23 essays that explore various themes, including art, literature, religion, nature, and spirituality. Meynell's writing style is characterized by her use of vivid imagery and poetic language, which makes her essays both insightful and beautiful to read. She draws on her own experiences and observations to offer unique perspectives on the world around her, and her writing is both thought-provoking and inspiring. The essays in Flower of the Mind cover a wide range of topics, from the beauty of the natural world to the power of faith and the importance of art in our lives. Meynell's writing is deeply philosophical and reflective, and she encourages readers to think deeply about their own lives and the world they inhabit.Overall, Flower of the Mind is a beautifully written and thought-provoking collection of essays that will appeal to anyone interested in literature, philosophy, and spirituality. Meynell's writing is both timeless and relevant, and her insights into the human experience are as relevant today as they were when she wrote them over a century ago.Colonel Richard Lovelace, an enchanting poet, is hardly read, except for two poems which are as famous as any in our language. Perhaps the rumour of his conceits has frightened his reader. It must be granted they are now and then daunting; there is a poem on ""Princess Louisa Drawing"" which is a very maze; the little paths of verse and fancy turn in upon one another, and the turns are pointed with artificial shouts of joy and surprise. But, again, what a reader unused to a certain living symbolism will be apt to take for a careful and cold conceit is, in truth, a rapture--none graver, none more fiery or more luminous. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
