For this reason, many of our adventures are easier to follow than many hikes, because the exertion comes more from the distance traveled than the difficulty of the terrain. So very often, the scenery is so spectacular that one just has to stop in order to appreciate the grandeur of such wild and untouched beauty! This book includes 43 hikes and 38 side trips. During our adventures, we seldom met many travelers, as Southern Oregon's splendor is so vast there could be thousands of hikers in these mountains at the same time, and yet meeting or passing others is a rarity. On occasion, we would meet hikers that carried the excitement of having seen or had an encounter with a Sasquatch, and on those occasions, they were very anxious to share their experience.
