Bag om Guidance For Research
The handbook contextualizes introduction and orientation of the research study and the rational for providing guidelines for honours masters and doctoral research students.
The hand book also highlights the significance of the study, research questions, hypothesis and ethical considerations of the study. Demarcation area of the study has also been included in order to address the area where data has been gathered.
Limitations of the study are always anticipated in any study. Barriers that interfere with the research process are likely to be imminent in any study. Operational definitions of terms and literature review must be highlighted in view of the fact that the researcher has to know other authors' findings and recommendations.
Research methodology in relation to research design, sampling, data gathering has been addressed along with analysing the data quantitatively and qualitatively in search of findings and recommendations of the study.
Validity and reliability has been presented to alert the researcher about the status of a reliable and validity of the questionnaire which is a probing tool in the research process.
Time frame and research funding have been included in the study. Time frame is presented to enable the researcher to plan accordingly and to know the parameters in the sampling process, in collecting the data and in analysing available data. Research funding is equally important and has been included on the bases that once the proposal is approved researcher must apply for funding. In most cases funding is available in Universities or institution where the student is registered. At times a student can apply for outside source research funding.
