Bag om Hamilton and Egberta
Once upon a time there was a little boy named Hamilton, and a little girl named Egberta. They lived two houses from one another on Sheridan Road in Wilmette, Illinois, a small suburb north of Chicago, and they were students in the same grade at the local public school, Wilmette Junior High School, or WJHS, in west Wilmette. From the time the two of them were very little, Hamilton and Egberta were the best of friends. Everyone at WJHS said that Hamilton was smart, and strong, and quick on his feet, and quite handsome. Similarly, everyone at WJHS said that Egberta was smart, and strong, and quick on her feet, and quite pretty. And from the time Hamilton and Egberta were in preschool together, everyone - including their parents - referred to them simply as "Ham" and "Eggs." Of course. Hamilton and Egberta loved to engage in sports, and walk along Lake Michigan at Gillson Park, and play word games with their friends. But most of all they loved to travel. In fact, whenever they traveled they would write stories about their adventures together.
