They had thought they were merely killing off a threat to their institutional religion. They had thought they were just removing a bothersome splinter from the side of their legalistic society. They had thought they were only eliminating one man for the sake of the nation. But what they were really doing with their false accusation, their clandestine arrest, their bogus trial, their inhumane crucifixion, was splitting the atom of love, and causing the awesome proliferation of the Spirit of God throughout the world.
