Learning to Live is the sequel to The Road to Life.

I wanted to describe that wonderful community in which I had the pleasure of working, to describe its inner movements, its life and its surroundings."
Anton Makarenko was to Soviet education what John Dewey was to education in America. Ukrainian Makarenko taught orphans after World War II, and his methods became the model for Stalin-era education.
