Bag om M.I.A.
U.S. Army Sergeant Harry Archer has been listed as 'missing in action' since the Vietnam War ended 40 + years ago. When he suddenly escapes his Vietnamese captors with the aide of a Vietnamese woman whose father was an American soldier, he's armed with the knowledge of a classified top-secret agreement that was privately reached between former U.S. President Richardson and North Vietnam's leader. The agreement enabled Vietnam to retain specific POWs with skills vital to the rebuilding that country. The hand- picked men were reclassified as 'missing in action' and destined to remain in Vietnam for the rest of their lives. It would be considered restitution for damages inflicted by America and in return a pre-ordained 'peace with honor' would be reached.
When the Vietnamese Government notifies the current President of the United States of his escape, he acts in accordance with that agreement and orders the CIA to track down Sergeant Archer and kill him before the agreement is exposed. Within hours Harry Archer is leading a cloak and dagger life as the CIA is determined to kill him and keep the Government's heinous act of so many years earlier hidden from the public.
Enter Allison George, a reporter for the D.C. Telegraph Newspaper and member of several organizations trying to have the POW/ MIA issue from the Vietnam War resolved. Her brother had been a member of Harry's platoon until he was killed in action. The Sergeant remembers that the soldier was always talking about his sister being a reporter and when he quietly reaches Washington, D.C. he contacts the woman. She finds his story unbelievable until he escorts her to the Vietnam War Memorial where he reveals things only known to her and her brother.
