Den franske forfatter Delphine de Vigan er en sand kunstner, og hun formår på imponerende vis at skabe intense skildringer, der tematiserer menneskets almengyldige vilkår. På trods af, at hun startede sin forfatterkarriere relativt sent (hendes debut udkom i 2001, da hun var 35 år), har hun på den korte tid høstet adskillige rosende anmeldelser verden over og vundet flere priser, og hun er dertil hædret med den franske orden "Ordre des Arts et des Lettres".
