Okada - Sidney Cooper - Bog

Bag om Okada

Throughout Nigeria Femi's family has been synonymous with corruption and power since his childhood, but he's been shielded from that part of his family, until now. Upon Femi's graduation from high school in Osogbo (a rural part of Nigeria) he is torn between two paths: one where his uncle Amadi needs him to protect the family name and business, and the other a spiritual one that is tied to his love interest Abeni (a Priestess in the African Tradition) which promises enlightenment and his true destiny. From a young age Femi displayed a strength and prowess in defending others. His reputation as a fierce protector and fighter is well documented in Osogbo. When Femi meets and falls for Abeni, he learns from her father a Babalawo (High Priest) in the Tradition that his guiding spirit is the warrior Ogun a natural protector, but the Babalawo warns Femi that if his gift is used inappropriately, it can turn him into a destroyer. As Femi starts his training as a warrior in the Temple his uncle Amadi finds himself in a fierce battle for his life and company with some old associates who now are his rivals. Amadi realizes he needs Femi for protection and his leadership skills, so he plays to Femi's sense of family loyalty to take his father's place as his business partner. When Femi tries to straddle the two paths, he experiences firsthand the words of the Babalawo - Destroyer vs. Protector.
