The 1950s in the United States marked a period of economic boom and innovation, dictated by the innovations and ethnic mixes of this land. These innovations have affected all areas of people's lives and obviously also those related to nutrition. Abundant breakfasts and quick lunches created fertile ground for the birth of the first fast foods, where the possibility of eating quickly was also associated with the possibility of relying on take-away foods to be consumed even on the street, such as chicken wings, pizza and Hamburger.
The latter is without a doubt the symbol par excellence of a quick lunch. Born as a pressed beef meatball, together with salad, bacon, cheeses, pickles and sauces, enclosed in a sandwich, it represents one of the symbols of US cuisine.
Upon closer inspection, another important aspect is represented by the introduction of household appliances, which will end up radically changing Americans' eating habits.
