Bag om Richmond
This book is a tribute to that wonderful artist Rosalie Gascogne. As a child I lived in an old house in Richmond. Rogers Street was thin and had painted houses on each side, musty pinks and faded blues were set off by green ferns. My billycart had red wheels, completing the colour wheel under the yellow sun.
Many years later I instantly clicked when I saw and purchased art works by her from Pinacotheca and 312 Lennox Street galleries; but we are only custodians of art and sometimes they go. Like memories, they are ours but not, nevertheless planting seeds that may grow.
This collection of paper collages is a creative response to several passions. Confusion has its role too. It's arranged as a tidy sequence and I hope you detect some musicality to it, as it plays in your mind.
Time pushes us forward and it's nice to make something of it. Be kind to those you love is its message.
