In this 1882 publication, the Italian-born amateur archaeologist Alessandro Palma Di Cesnola (1839-1914) records the most notable Cypriot artefacts he discovered, chiefly around Salamis, over three years. Replete with illustrations, the work sheds light on the ancient Phoenician, Egyptian, Greek and Roman influences that shaped Cypriot art over time.
