The faith community has traditionally been a voice that brought hope and encouragement. It is vital for the faith community to continue to be a voice even in controversial matters. Therefore, the community of faith must no longer be silent about domestic violence as it is an evil that destroys our families and threatens the existence of future generations. It is imperative that professionals, family and friends become a village that is educated about domestic violence. There has been one to many deaths of women and children as a result of domestic violence. Being educated would allow us to provide effective love, encouragement and support to assist a victim on the road to escaping domestic violence. God does not want us to be ignorant, "My people are destroyed from lack of knowledge" (Hosea 4:6). "Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour" (1 Peter 5:8). God cares about all of our needs, which includes those held imprisoned by domestic violence. God sent His son to set us free, through his saving grace, "So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed" (John 8:36). God's saving grace does not discriminate. It is not exclusive to race, economic status, age, gender or religion. Saving grace is God's favor or kindness to salvation without regard to who you are and in spite of what you deserve.
