Slovenly Peter (1918) - Heinrich Hoffmann - Bog

Bag om Slovenly Peter (1918)

Slovenly Peter is a children's book originally published in German in 1845 under the title Struwwelpeter. The book features a collection of cautionary tales for children, each one illustrating the consequences of bad behavior. The stories are told in rhyming verse and accompanied by illustrations. The book was written by Heinrich Hoffmann, a German psychiatrist, and was intended to teach children about proper behavior and manners. The stories cover a variety of topics, including hygiene, safety, and respecting others. Some of the stories are quite dark and feature children meeting gruesome fates as a result of their misbehavior. Despite this, the book has remained popular over the years and has been translated into many languages. The 1918 English edition of Slovenly Peter features new illustrations by Harold Begbie and F. Carruthers Gould. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world's literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
