Soul's Fury - Sattar Memon - Bog

Bag om Soul's Fury

On a sweltering August high noon, a Delhi bus driver gets unimaginable news: his only teenage son "...wants to blow himself up, inside Wall Street and kill all Jews. Akbar has told his uncle, Harun, how he plans to do this on his birthday, only seven days away. Horrified and grieving, the bus driver loses control of his vehicle. Harun - the only witness to the details of the jihadist's plan- is flung into the raging river .. Half a world away, an American doctor - Dr. Jonathan Kingsley - still struggling with personal issues surrounding death and dying and seeking peace and closure finds harrowing adventure in his own backyard of pristine woods of Northern, Maine. In this novel, a sinister group of jihadists take up residence in rural Maine. Enter a young, educated Muslim--a valedictorian from Delhi -- Smoldering with misplaced rage, he is quickly transformed by Islamic extremists into a venomous avenger. Enlightened Gentile, Dr. Jonathan Kingsley and his new Hindu bride, Gauri want to prevent the mayhem and convince the wannabe martyr to turn away from the imminent massacre. Who will succeed? What are the chances a kind Samaritan will change the heart of a family man turned ferocious fanatic? Soul's Fury: an edgy, gut-wrenching tale of proliferating anti-Semitism--and its antidote. A sequel to Memon's first novel, The Ashram, this stand-alone novel takes readers from the rich culture of India to the bucolic pine forests of rural Allagash, Maine. Each of these books follows the life of Dr. Jonathan Kingsley, a widowed physician who visits India for humanitarian reasons, where he finds heart-pounding adventures, spiritual enlightenment, and the romance of a lifetime. In both books Dr. Kingsley struggles with personal issues surrounding death and dying. Sattar Memon, Professor of Medicine at Brown University, is an oncologist who deals with life, love, and death on a daily basis, and enjoys writing multi-cultural thrillers that intertwine spirituality, religion, and faith. Readers enjoy being immersed in the rich culture of India. Memon has published three medical books and two literary books. His first novel - The Ashram - had the movie rights picked up after winning a top prize in the Writer's Digest International Self-published Novel Contest.
