Bag om Studies In Literature
""Studies in Literature"" is a collection of essays by John Morley, a British statesman, writer, and literary critic. The book covers a wide range of topics related to literature, including the works of Shakespeare, Milton, and Wordsworth, as well as the role of literature in society and the philosophy of aesthetics. Morley's writing is characterized by his clear and concise style, and his ability to make complex ideas accessible to a general audience. The book is an excellent resource for anyone interested in the study of literature, and is a must-read for students and scholars alike. When my friend Mr. Goschen invited me to discharge the duty which has fallen to me this afternoon I confess that I complied with many misgivings. He desired me to say something on the literary side of education. Now, it is almost impossible--and I think those who know most of literature will be readiest to agree with me--to say anything new in recommendation of literature in a scheme of education. I have felt, however, that Mr. Goschen has worked with such zeal and energy for so many years on behalf of this good cause, that anybody whom he considered able to render him any co-operation owed it to him in its fullest extent. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
