When the Summerlands Carnival comes to the town of Elkston, Arthur is mired in memories of his past concerning the woman he loved and lost in a tragic incident as they pursued their passion. Strange phenomena center around photographs of Abagail, and the happenings at the traveling Carnival affect Ted in a way he never could have imagined, causing him to question reality and redefine his view of what is possible. Summerlands is a story of love unrequited, of conflict and resolution. It reads as a montage of lives touching and overlapping each other, of friendships built on successes and failures, but mostly the lesson that even beyond the grave, love will surely endure. Any reader who enjoyed "Tuesdays with Morrie" or "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom, will certainly love this novel.
