Surviving Jericho - Jennifer Bennett - Bog

- Learning To Love the God Who Saves Us

Bag om Surviving Jericho

In her newest book, Surviving Jericho, Jennifer Bennett takes readers on a journey of discovering the heart of the God of creation and what it means to follow Him with all our hearts. Scripture tells us we are to "love Adonai your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength, " (Deut. 6:5; Matt. 22:37) In Surviving Jericho, Jennifer explores what the Bible says about this kind of love using the example of Rahab, someone who was destined for destruction, but because she chose to believe God, was not only saved from the destruction of Jericho, but grafted into the community of Israel. As believers, we too were once "alienated from the commonwealth of Israel and strangers to the covenants of promise, having no hope and without God in the world." (Eph. 2:12) But now, through the blood of Messiah, we have been reconciled to God and are now fellow citizens with the whole household of God. (Eph. 2:16-19) The journey woven through the pages of this book is about discovering the roots of our faith, finding out why we believe what we believe, and choosing if that is in indeed what we still want to believe. Do we truly want to live a life marked by a love for the God who saves us?
