It was a choice between love and career, not that they'd admit they were in love in the first place. The Navy of the Galactic Republic had changed over the fifty years since the conquest of Andromeda and Triangulum. After a half-century of peace, the Navy had become more of a police force, showing the flag around a Republic that spanned all or part of eight galaxies.
