Bag om The Faye Headrick Story
After the death of my precious wife, Faye Headrick, on Father's Day, June 21, 2020, I was lost, an empty vessel. We had been blissfully married less than two months shy of sixty-four years. My heart was utterly shattered and my constant thought was God take me too. Don't leave me here lonely and without Faye. At Faye's funeral, I told her, "Don't get far from the door, I am coming soon."For months I was lost in a deep, dark hole of life. I begged God to let me come home. I had been a faithful servant. I had done everything He'd asked of me: over twenty-five years as a pastor and almost another so many years traveling as evangelists with Faye. God please let me come home.God began to remind me of Proverbs 8:22, "Whoso findeth a wife findeth a good thing, And obtaineth favor of the LORD." As I began to remember the wonderful years of our marriage, an entire life of joy, love, serving the Lord, and memories with family and dear friends, God said, "I want you to finish her book, The Faye Headrick Story." Faye knew she was to write a book of her life and testimony. She had made notes and we had a series of audio recordings to which we could refer for details. The story begins and moves forward from our early lives-our trials and triumphs, our disappointments and delights-with a focus on how God directed our lives from the beginning. I collected all of the clippings, notes, and tapes, and started the process of pulling everything together, and you will see first-hand how the Holy Spirit divinely assigned and directed the process of gifting it to the world.
As you read this book, I pray you will find a way out of your "dark hole" of life, should you find yourself there. May you discover the wonderful love of God, His salvation, and His healing power.
Good reading, and many blessings.
