Bag om The Long Way to Town
A little girl and her grandparents trip from Mazama Washington to Winthrop and Twisp Washington is an all day trip to town to get groceries. The story includes beautiful illustrations of the scenery of mountains, rivers, bridges, and small town Mazama and Winthrop. A reflection of childhood memories that all ages can relate to. A reminder to slow down and enjoy the beauty of each of our lifes and relationships with the people in our live. "I didn't realize until I was older that it only took approximately 20 minutes to get to town, and how lucky I was to have grandparents and parents who shared this incredible life of adventure, travel, home cooking, fishing and long walks just to mention a few" says the author. Today Mazama is still a small town, the old post office has now been turned into a great little tourist stop "The Mazama Store" . The scenery remains the same as I remember it the town of Winthrop was updated, but as a child it looked like this old town out of a western movie. The Methow river flows along the road from Mazama to Winthrop and on to twisp which connects each town and flows on to more travels. The book includes a local map to create an interactive experience for all to enjoy.
