Bag om The performance of higher education institutions

This research work aims to evaluate the situation of graduates of public higher education institutions on the Moroccan private labor market in terms of the quality of insertion with the level of the acquired degree. In other words, is it a situation of adequacy or a mismatch of graduates on the labor market? Our empirical results, using a multilevel logistic model that is more appropriate to the hierarchical structure of our data on a sample of 1,747 graduates from 57 universities, show that the heterogeneity of graduates between institutions significantly affects their type of insertion into the labor market. Once these individual effects are controlled for, it appears that there is an institutional effect on the type of match or on the quality of insertion of graduates into the labor market. Similarly, when we integrate the structure of the training offer of the institutions, there appears to be a moderate but still significant institutional effect which can be illustrated by a network effect or a signal effect of the university on the labor market.
